Springfield elementary teacher, facing prostitution charge, released on own recognizance
Former Springfield third grade teacher Laura Fiedler, facing a Greene County charge of promoting prostitution was released on her own recognizance. Originally, bond had been set at $2,500.
Her attorney, Joseph Passanise, filed several motions, including one to dismiss the case. The next hearing is scheduled for March 30.
Tomorrow will mark the one-year anniversary since Mrs. Fielder and her husband were originally arrested on suspicion of operating a prostitution ring out of the Landmark Hotel. The Greene County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed the charges this week.
In the year since her arrest, Mrs. Fiedler has been on suspension from her teaching job, but receiving full pay.
