Beginning of trial for accused Rowan Ford killer delayed

Opening statements in the trial of Chris Collings, one of two men accused of the brutal November 2007 rape and murder of nine-year-old Rowan Ford of Stella, will not take place Monday as originally scheduled.

Jury selection, which was to supposed to conclude today, but has been postponed, is the reason for the delay. A jury is being chosen from Platte City and will be bused to Rolla where the trial will take place. The opening statements are now tentatively scheduled for Thursday.
