Obama to speak at Joplin High School graduation

Joplin School officials announced today that President Barack Obama will speak at this year's Joplin High School graduation ceremony.

The commencement is scheduled to take place 7 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center on the campus of Missouri Southern State University.

The ceremony will take place just one day before the one-year anniversary of the May 22 tornado that brought Joplin into the nation's spotlight.

The acccompanying photo was taken during the president's visit to Joplin on Sunday, May 29, one week after the tornado.

I appreciate President Obama taking time from his busy schedule to make an everlasting impression on the students at Joplin High School at a cost of well over 4 million dollars.

I don't care for the guy at all, but that's part of the job.

And what could Obama do or not do that would ever please you, Republican complainer. Since he is also visiting many other Midwest states during that trip that have been hit with terrible storms, I very much doubt that the Joplin trip will have a price tag of 4 million dollars.

Good old Republican hate: Not even an EF-5 tornado with significant loss of life, 8,000 structures lost and millions of dollars in damage could get them to admit the President is a good man who came to Joplin's aid when we needed it most!

Let's see, announcements to friends and family had already been sent. Family members expected to go to graduation Sunday and drive back to be at work on Monday. Some can't now attend. The ticket count for family has gone from ten to eight. No doubt Claire McCaskill be be in attendance and recognized by her good friend to prop up her uncoming liberal election campaign. And what a great role model he will present. Doesn't like to display the flag, likes to apologize to our adversaries, pushing abortion and his other idealogies against the church. I know now how to vote on the school bond issue.
