Chance Wistrom named Republic superintendent

Webb City native, and former Joplin and Carthage teacher Chance Wistrom has been named superintendent at Republic. From the Springfield News-Leader:

Board president Ed Cantrell said there were seven applicants to replace exiting superintendent Vern Minor, who will work through the end of June. Two candidates were interviewed.
"It's his demeanor and we need someone who is a good communicator," Cantrell told the News-Leader. "He has that calming effect, with authority."
Wistrom was given a two-year contract and a base salary of $130,000. In addition to undergraduate work, he has a master’s degree in education from Missouri State University.
