Spence puts a quarter of his million into his campaign

While the oversized donations were pouring into the campaign account of Gov. Jay Nixon during the last few days of the quarter, his Republican challenger, businessman Dave Spence, also received a big cash infusion.

Unfortunately for Spence, that quarter of a million dollar contribution came from his own wallet.

Doing far better, according to 48-hour reports filed Monday with the Missouri Ethics Commission was Republican lieutenant governor candidate Brad Lager, who received his big money from outside sources. Lager picked up $115,000, including $100,000 from Sarah Atkins, Arlington, Va. who is one of the Humphreys family of TAMKO in Joplin.

Ed Martin, GOP candidate for attorney general put $205,000 from his short-lived Congressional campaign account into the state race.
