Rove group ad targets McCaskill for wasteful spending

Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS is back at it again, this time with an ad targeting Sen. Claire McCaskill for  wasteful spending while Missourians are out of work, and, as with all of the other ads the group has used to target the senator, her ties with President Obama. The Crossroads GPS news release is printed below:

Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) today announced the launch of new TV issue ad in Missouri – urging action by Claire McCaskill to fight wasteful spending and government debt.

The ad, backed by a nearly $1 million total buy, will start today and run for two weeks on broadcast and cable networks in Missouri.  The spot, titled “Spending,”can be viewed here.

“We’re turning up the heat on President Obama and his liberal ally Claire McCaskill to fight wasteful spending, fix the debt mess, and focus on real economic solutions,” said Nate Hodson, Crossroads GPS Director of State and Regional Media Relations.  “This ad alerts Missourians to the job-destroying agenda of President Obama and Claire McCaskill and equips them to advocate for the practical solutions contained in the New Majority Agenda.”

The ad urges viewers to support the “New Majority Agenda,” which includes a plank on cutting spending.  For more information about the six major policy initiatives detailed in the plan, visit www.newmajorityagenda.org.

McCaskill voted for the stimulus package which cost taxpayers more than $1.18 trillion as more than 16,000 Missouri jobs were lost after its enactment.  Despite promises of job creation and economic growth by Obama and McCaskill, the bill wasted money on projects like $2 million to study ants in Africa, $25 million for snow making in Vermont, and $300,000 to study weather on Venus.
