Brief break coming from excessive heat

BRIEF RESPITE FROM HOT CONDITIONS...

A WEAK COLD FRONT WILL SLOWLY MOVE SOUTH THROUGH THE REGION FROM
THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY MORNING. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
ACCOMPANY THIS FRONT FROM LATE TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY EVENING. A
SLIGHTLY COOLER AND DRIER AIRMASS WILL FILTER INTO THE AREA BEHIND
THE FRONT TO END THE WORK WEEK...BUT HOT TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED TO RETURN TO MOST AREAS BY THE WEEKEND.

HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...ALL OF THE MISSOURI OZARKS AND
EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS THROUGH 7 PM THIS EVENING.

* TEMPERATURES...AIR TEMPERATURES AND HEAT INDICES THROUGH EARLY
THIS EVENING WILL REMAIN BETWEEN 98 AND 106 DEGREES.

* IMPACTS...THOSE TAKING PART IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES WILL BECOME
SUSCEPTIBLE TO HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES IF PROPER PRECAUTIONS
ARE NOT TAKEN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.
