Parson, Missouri Leadership Committee put $55,000 into Largent campaign

The man who beat former Rep. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, for the State Senate two years ago apparently does not want him as a colleague.

A 48-hour report filed today with the Missouri Ethics Commission shows Sen. Mike Parson, R-Bolivar, contributed $30,000 to the campaign of Emery's opponent, Rep. Scott Largent, R-Clinton, in Tuesday's primary.

Largent also received a $25,000 contribution from the Missouri Leadership Committee out of Farmington, which has been connected to Speaker of the House Steve Tilley.

As noted earlier in The Turner Report, nearly all of Emery's money has come from two sources, with $280,000 coming either from the Humphreys family of Joplin's TAMKO or the Club for Growth PAC, which is almost entirely funded by retired billionaire Rex Sinquefield.

Randy, you should recheck your numbers. You are getting careless in your old age. The $280,000 came from Noranda Aluminum as the only contributor to a fake group known as Missourians Against Higher Utility Costs. The $280,000 was spend to defeat Emery and elect Largent because Noranda wanted favors from Emery while he was in office that he was not willing to give. Sorry, dude, but once again you have your facts wrong.

Parson is trying to buy up votes for floor leader against Ron Richard.
He knows Emery's vote is not for sale.

  3. Not only am I not getting careless, you are getting ridiculous. How in the world would I confuse $280,000, which is clearly listed on Ed Emery's disclosure reports as coming from David Humphreys, EthelMae Humphreys, Susan Atkins, and Rex Sinquefield's Club for Growth PAC with Missourians Against Higher Utility Costs. That group did not contribute a cent to Ed Emery. I have a story coming about the money that Missourians Against Higher Utility Costs has spent AGAINST Ed Emery, along with the money that Sinquefield's group and Missouri Right to Life have spent against Scott Largent. Please recheck your own numbers.
