Michelle Rhee's Students First group contributes $10,000 to Jay Nixon

Money talks in the wild west environment of Missouri politics, where there is no limit on how much money can be contributed to a candidate.

Continuing its move toward contributing to Democrats, Michelle Rhee's criminally named Students First organization gave $10,000 to Gov. Jay Nixon's re-election campaign, according to a 48-hour report filed with the Missouri Ethics Commission.

The contribution is the second Students First, an organization that has made the elimination of teacher tenure and the adoption of educational vouchers top priorities, has given to Democrats during the past week, following a $7,500 donation to the House Democratic Campaign Committee last Tuesday.

Earlier this month,  Students First gave $15,000 to the House Republican Campaign Committee and $10,000 to the Republican Senate Campaign Committee.
