National Weather Service issues hazardous weather outlook

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

  NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

  A STRONG STORM SYSTEM WILL IMPACT THE CENTRAL UNITED STATES
  FROM WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY...BRINGING A WIDE VARIETY OF
  POTENTIAL WEATHER HAZARDS.

  ENOUGH INSTABILITY WILL BE PRESENT FOR THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP
  WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. A FEW OF THESE STORMS COULD
  BECOME STRONG WITH AN ISOLATED SEVERE STORM POSSIBLE ACROSS
  SOUTHERN MISSOURI. DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY SEVERE THREAT.

  SOME SNOW MAY WRAP AROUND THIS SYSTEM INTO PORTIONS OF THE
  OUTLOOK AREA LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING. THE
  BULK OF THE HEAVIEST ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL LIKELY REMAIN WELL
  NORTH OF THE AREA. ONLY LIGHT SNOW IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE
  MISSOURI OZARKS AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND SHOULD GENERALLY MELT
  AS IT FALLS...OR MELT ON THE GROUND WITH WARM UNDERLING SOIL
  TEMPERATURES. SOME MINOR ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE FOR
  PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MISSOURI WHERE THERE IS A CHANCE FOR A LIGHT
  DUSTING OF SNOW OCCURRING. AS THIS SNOWFALL WILL LIKELY OCCUR AT
  THE TIME OF THE MORNING COMMUTE...THERE MAY BE SOME IMPACTS TO
  TRAVEL SHOULD THE SNOWFALL ACCUMULATE.

  GUSTY SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL OCCUR AHEAD OF THIS STORM SYSTEM ON
  WEDNESDAY WITH BRISK AND GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS EXPECTED BEHIND
  THE SYSTEM ON THURSDAY BETWEEN 20 AND 30 MILES PER HOUR WITH
  GUSTS AS HIGH AS 45 MILES PER HOUR.

  SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NEEDED THROUGH TONIGHT.
