The book takes Joplin East Middle School students and staff from the May 22, 2011, tornado through the final day of the 2011-2012 school year, detailing students' tornado stories and the struggle for students and staff at East to turn a warehouse into a school after our building was destroyed.
I will post a detailed summary of what is included in the book later tonight, as well as a chapter from the book. It includes stories written by current Joplin High School freshmen, East Middle School eighth graders and one seventh grader, as well as a foreword by JHS sophomore Rylee Hartwell.
