* Snow, freezing rain & freezing temperatures possible during nighttime hours. MoDOT crews will continue to monitor road conditions.
Weather Conditions: Areas of southwest Missouri are seeing light snow and some sleet and freezing rain in areas. The precipitation will continue through midnight ending from west to east across the area. Travel Conditions: As of Thursday afternoon, most roads are wet. However, temperatures may drop below freezing overnight creating slick conditions in areas especially on bridge floors and overpasses. Road Clearing: Partial to full MoDOT crews will stay out overnight monitoring road conditions. As roads begin to cover with freezing precipitation, crews will react accordingly. It is possible that crews may treat roads or plow them depending on the depth and the type of precipitation. Drivers are urged to use caution and be alert for rapidly changing road conditions. Winter Weather Driving Tips: * Buckle up. * Adjust your speed to conditions. * Stay at least 100 feet behind a truck plowing/salting the road. * Keep your windshield and other windows clear to help you see. * Be alert for road conditions that may change as you drive. * Don't tailgate. * Focus on driving and avoid distractions. * Allow for extra travel time.
