Two to five inches of snow expected in Joplin area; winter weather advisory in effect

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 7 PM CDT SUNDAY...
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 7 PM CDT SUNDAY.
* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED... SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN AFTER MIDNIGHT INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON SUNDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON. THE SNOW WILL GRADUALLY END FROM WEST TO EAST SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
* SNOW ACCUMULATION... SNOW AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM 2 TO 5 INCHES.
* WINDS AND VISIBILITY... WIND GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH MAY CAUSE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW. HEAVIER SNOW MAY REDUCE THE VISIBILITY DOWN TO LESS THAN HALF A MILE AT TIMES.
* IMPACTS... TRAVEL IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED... PARTICULARLY WITH THE RISK OF LOW VISIBILITIES AND SLICK ROADWAYS IN AREAS OF HEAVIER SNOW.
PLEASE NOTE THAT CHANGES IN THE PREDICTED TRACK AND INTENSIFICATION RATE OF THE STORM ARE STILL LIKELY WITH SOME POTENTIAL OF A MORE SOUTHERLY TRACK. THIS MAY WARRANT CHANGES IN THE COUNTY COVERAGE OF THE ADVISORY AND WARNING AREAS LATER TODAY.
