Winter weather advisory issued for Joplin area

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND FREEZING DRIZZLE REMAINS IN
EFFECT FROM 7 AM THURSDAY TO 7 AM CDT FRIDAY.
* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...SNOW WILL IMPACT EXTREME SOUTHEAST
KANSAS...AS WELL AS SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI
STARTING THURSDAY MORNING AND CONTINUING INTO THURSDAY NIGHT.
FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE THURSDAY NIGHT.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 4 TO 6
INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE ROUGHLY ALONG A
LINE FROM OSCEOLA...TO MARSHFIELD...AND DOWN TO GAINESVILLE.
LIGHTER ACCUMULATIONS FROM 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ON EITHER
SIDE OF THIS LINE ACROSS EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND FAR
SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI...AS WELL AS ACROSS THE TRUMAN AND LAKE OF
THE OZARKS REGION.
* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...A THIN GLAZE OF ICE WILL BE POSSIBLE
THURSDAY NIGHT...MAINLY ACROSS SOUTHERN MISSOURI.
* VISIBILITY...HEAVY BURSTS OF SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO
LESS THAN A HALF MILE AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY FROM LATE THURSDAY
MORNING INTO EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
* IMPACTS...TRAVEL IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED...PARTICULARLY WITH THE
RISK OF LOW VISIBILITIES AND SLICK ROADWAYS.
