Besendorfer: Easiest way to bring down a male teacher is to accuse him of inappropriate conduct

It was not one of my proudest moments.

I removed everything I had written in 2007 about a certain situation that occurred in the Reeds Spring School District (the official in question originally came from Lamar and the Turner Report has quite a few readers in Lamar who were interested.) from my blog.

This was not the last time I was asked to remove items from the Turner Report. It was the last time I did so. As I have noted on Facebook, any time Superintendent C. J. Huff has had a problem with something I have written, he has contacted me directly. He has also contacted me when he has liked things I have written. Any other complaints have come from "administration" and have been delivered through underlings.

And, as you might expect, I have documentation.

So, if I read this correctly, Mr. Besendorfer was offering to throw that teacher under the bus in order for you to clear the Besendorfer name? That is certainly reflective of a high standard of values. Was that supposed to be a bribe? Take the old story down and I'll give you a better one if you'll clear my name? Interesting.

He's certainly proud of his teaching ability. I wonder what their academic progress reports looked like while Angie and her wonderfully supportive husband were there.I hope they look better than Joplin's have in recent years. With the kind of talent Mr. Besendorfer tells us he had, they must have been really sorry to see them leave Reeds Springs.

I worked with Mr. Besendorfer in Carthage..he was a joke of a teacher....sorry to say but your typical "male coach" teacher.. and had a few issues with females there too....

And before anyone gets their pants in a wad....not all coaches that teach are like that.....but we all know the ones that are....

In the link above, you can find Dr. Besendorfer's dissertation, where she uses the fictitious Dogwood School District to describe the "reforms" she did while she was superintendent at Reeds Spring.

Everything she did there, she has done in Joplin- late start times, a culture of meetings and pulling teachers out of classes, basing teaching on practice standardized test scores, can you say acuity? You can also see numerous hints of her idea, which has been so dangerous at the high school and middle school levels here of students learning things on their own without any help from teachers. It is a difficult document to read and it is scary. This failed in Reeds Spring and test scores indicate it is failing miserably here, too. Turner is right when he says we can't keep blaming our problems on the tornado.

Another link for you. All of this talk about saving money by going to staggered start times may be true, but it also served as an introduction to Dr. Besendorfer's tightly scripted Wednesday morning professional development meetings. Dr. Besendorfer said the leadership team approved this plan. The leadership team was never asked that question. The question was "Are you in favor of more professional development." That is the way it is a lot of times when the board is told that teachers have approved of something.

Please don't excuse Huff's behavior, he is allowing this and must support her poor decisions. I have never seen
this district in such turmoil with morale and academics at an all time low.

Well, we climbed the mountain and now we have slid all the way to the bottom. As I look back at the teachers
who worked hard and loved this district, but were sent packing either by being escorted out or just cut loose many times to make a place for Besendorfer's followers. What a shame not only for the changed lives but for education in Joplin. When is this going to end?

It will end when the school board realizes we are going to vote them out, like they did in Reeds Spring if they do get out Dr. B and the others she has appointed in charge.

It will end when the Board hears from enough people to feel like the consensus is for change, and what kind of change is wanted is something they have to hear. It can't happen with just a few of us speaking up. It will take a lot of parents to make it happen.

Angie Besendorfer is an absolute snake. If the taxpayers truly knew how she's conducted her business dealings they would be outraged. I know many staff (including some..."higher-ups") at the schools want her GONE because they've seen her behavior first hand. I've been encouraged to go to papers or press with this info....well see. Stay tuned.
