Billy Long on the Joplin Tornado and its aftermath
In this interview with Oklahoma Congressman Tom Cole, Seventh District Congressman Billy Long talks about the Joplin Tornado and the time immediately afterward and how it changed his thinking about the role of a Congressman.
Congressman Long spent many, many hours in Joplin and in Washington communicating with all of the agencies capable of responding to Joplin's needs.
At no time did he grandstand for his benefit. He simply did the job knowing that the Joplin people affected and the thousands of responders needed any and all assistance that could be assembled. He worked with Senators Blunt and McCaskill and Governor Nixon and never had any public thanks for his efforts. He never expected nor asked for it.

Thanks Billy.
