Flood watch issued for Jasper County

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A
* FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND MISSOURI...
INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS...
BOURBON...CHEROKEE AND CRAWFORD. IN MISSOURI...BARTON...
BENTON...CEDAR...DADE...GREENE...HICKORY...JASPER...
LAWRENCE...NEWTON...POLK...ST. CLAIR AND VERNON.
* FROM 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING
* A VERY MOIST AIRMASS WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA THIS EVENING INTO
TUESDAY AND WILL PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL. WIDESPREAD RAINFALL
AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
AMOUNTS ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF A NEOSHO TO SPRINGFIELD TO
WARSAW MISSOURI LINE.
* THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL MAY PRODUCE DANGEROUS FLASH FLOODING OF LOW
WATER CROSSINGS...SMALL STREAMS...AND LOW LYING FLOOD PRONE
AREAS. SIGNIFICANT RISES AND FLOODING ON LARGER STREAMS AND
RIVERS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.
