If you want to talk to the publisher of the Carthage Press or the Neosho Daily News, you cannot just drive a short distance and meet him face-to-face.
According to an advertisement on the website of GateHouse Media, which owns those publications, the new publisher will be based in Independence.
That has been the situation for the past few months when former Pittsburg Morning Sun Publisher Stephen Wade, who had moved on to the same position at Independence, took over the local publications, including the Morning Sun, the Greenfield Vedette, and the Aurora Advertiser, on a temporary basis after the resignation of Stephen Boggs. Wade is reportedly leaving GateHouse Media for another position.
As noted in a story earlier this week on the Inside Joplin website, all design work for all of GateHouse Media’s more than 400 publications across the United States will be done out of a facility in Austin, Texas, beginning later this year.
The GateHouse ad reads as follows:
GateHouse Media has an immediate opening for a seasoned Senior Group Publisher with a proven track record of revenue and ebitda results to lead its daily, weekly, shopper and digital operations in MO, KS, IA, and NE. The position will be based in Independence, MO
