Murder charges will be filed against Bobby Bourne

The Lamar man who was arrested about an hour after witnesses claimed he took 12-year-old Adriaunna Horton of Golden City with him in his pickup will soon have the charges against him upgraded from kidnapping to murder, Barton County Prosecuting Attorney Steven Kaderly told KZRG.

Miss Horton's body had not been found when the Missouri Highway Patrol arrested Bobby Don Bourne. It was found in a field outside f Golden City the following day.

As noted earlier in the Turner Report, Bourne has a long history of criminal offenses, including numerous instances of assault, including one instance in which he pleaded guilty to assaulting an underage girl.

Bourne is being held in the Jasper County Jail on $1 million bond.
