Dr. James Shull of Rex Sinquefield's Show-Me Institute explained Common Core Standards this morning on KZRG's Morning News Watch program.
Shull explains how the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education jumped on Common Core Standards right from the start, looking to get part of the Race to the Top pot of gold.
He also notes East Newton's decision to question Common Core Standards. He notes that EN did not say it would not adopt the standards, since schools are going to be evaluated on them.
Shull offers advice on how patrons can raise concerns about Common Core Standards. He suggests organizing parents and talking to the school board.
