Great times lie in store for the Joplin R-8 School District, as new buildings open in January, according to Assistant Superintendent Dr. Angie Besendorfer.
"We can't wait for Jan. 6 and to see these kids' faces when they're in there learning," she said, during an interview with Judy Stiles of the Newsmakers program "(The new buildings) are going to be amazing."
Besendorfer warned that R-8 taxpayers shouldn't be confused by the appearance of the new schools. "Things look expensive, but they aren't."
Besendorfer stressed how much the community supports what the school district is doing. "I am so amazed at how much our community is willing to step up, not just helping us, but holding hands with us."
Teachers love the new buildings, Besendorfer stressed.
"The old way of the teacher standing in front of the classroom and the desks are all in a row will not be happening in these schools."
These changes will guarantee that students will be able to learn what they need to know to survive in the workforce.
And they will begin preparing for that workforce early, Besendorfer noted. "Career ready is K-12."
She noted that Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Rob O'Brian is already using Joplin's career pathways program as a recruiting tool for new businesses.
What new businesses! Ice cream parlors, burger joints, car washes....come on...just put robots in classrooms & fire the teachers & let the kids play with marbles, computer games, run their classrooms ....oh, good night, cannot believe this drivel....
ReplyDeleteI heard the building is overwhelming and not many who have seen it like it. And please, don't tell us it isn't expensive. We can see what's been spent. And if they're not as expensive as they look then where in hell did the money go? You have a lot of explaining to do, Bessie! We're dwindling the reserves down to 8% for cheap buildings? Lies lies lies.
ReplyDeleteDrivel is way too nice a word for what she's flinging. We're not that dumb, Bess. The truth is out and you can't hide behind smarmy crap anymore. We're finished with you in Joplin. Pack your bags and go.
ReplyDeleteI hope my preschooler doesn't have to pick a career path with an entry level job at the end of it. Can he play with blocks and look at books for a year or two before you start molding him for the business world? Ignorant. All of it.
ReplyDeletePlease, I do not want to hold Bessie's hand! She is delusional & a liar...
ReplyDelete"We can't wait until January 6 to get in there and see these kids' faces as they're learning" really translates into "I can't wait to have another big media event so maybe I'll get discovered and get a job some place where they don't despise me." And then destroy yet another district with people dumb enough to keep her on.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure all teachers were encouraged to say how they REALLY felt in the open-door-we're-one-big-happy-family Joplin School District!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, & I am going to Russia to be in the Winter Olympics bobsled competion...
ReplyDeleteSorry. Just can't do it. Even if I don't look at the screen I can't listen to that voice for that long. The voice of lies and threats and terrible unhappiness. The person who destroyed my school. I'll take your word for what she said. It's got to be a pack of lies just judging by the speaker.
ReplyDeletePuhleeze. You critics are so predicable. Furst you complain about the huge expenses, then you complain when she tells youu things aren't expensive after all. Can't have it both ways can you?
ReplyDeleteLuckily that German furniture looks cheap, so the taxpayers will not need to be fooled on that budget item. You complainers din't like imported furniture anyway, no matter what it costs to have cushy tushies.
She has a job offer coming soon from The Onion.
In case she's forgotten, all checks and expenditures are made public (at least the legal ones). We know what was spent. And it wasn't cheap. The most expensive dream fulfillment project on record around here. If only more than Angie and her mercenaries shared that dream.
ReplyDeleteNo it definately isn't cheap...but it would be a LOT CHEAPER if ole Bessie wasn't in charge. Dig into her business practices and you'll see how she's railroaded every single project at the expense of the taxpayers. Congratulations Angie you've cost the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars in extra expenses.
ReplyDeleteHer and Huff need to go.
