Education Commissioner: This is why we did not give Kansas City Schools accreditation

In her monthly message, Missouri Education Commissioner Chris Nicastro explains the State Board of Education's decision not to give provisional accreditation to the Kansas City School District.

She also explains the board's decision to not only award a testing contract to McGraw-Hill, but also to buy McGraw-Hill's Acuity program, which will have children doing practice standardized tests throughout the year.

Ms. Nicastro also congratulates Joplin High School teacher Tobin Schultz for recently receiving the Milken Award.
