I noticed a few moments ago that a couple of Amazon's online sellers have copies of Spirit of Hope: The Year After the Joplin Tornado priced at $5.20, which is about $10 below the normal price if anyone is looking for a bargain.
Spirit of Hope, which I wrote with Carthage Press Managing Editor John Hacker, tells the story of the Joplin Tornado from the day it occurred through the one-year anniversary. The book includes first person stories of the tornado and many of the events during the recovery process.
It also includes coverage of the many of the events that occurred during that year, including the six-month anniversary observance, the memorial service at MSSU, the Joplin High School graduation, the Extreme Makeover build, and much more.
I wonder who will milk the tornado longer - the school district for attention for themselves and fund for our schools or you for no reason other than lining your pockets. Anyone care to place a bet on this?
