Wind chill advisory in effect tonight for Joplin area

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON CST THURSDAY.
THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON CST THURSDAY.
* TIMING & AREAS AFFECTED.DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS TONIGHT INTO THUR MORNING FOR ALL OF SOUTHEASTERN KS AND THE MO OZARKS.
* WIND CHILL VALUES.AIR TEMPS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS TO 5 BELOW COMBINED WITH A STEADY NORTHERLY WIND WILL CREATE WIND CHILLS OF 10 TO 20 BELOW ZERO TONIGHT.
* IMPACTS.DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS TONIGHT & THURSDAY MORNING COULD QUICKLY CAUSE FROSTBITE OR HYPOTHERMIA.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS.
A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR & STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE & LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
