Winter weather advisory to begin at 3 a.m. Tuesday for Joplin area

6 AM CST WEDNESDAY...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM
TUESDAY TO 6 AM CST WEDNESDAY.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL DEVELOP
  EARLY TUESDAY MORNING AND MOVE ACROSS THE AREA DURING THE DAY ON
  TUESDAY. THE SNOW WILL SLOWLY TAPER OFF TUESDAY NIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...AREAS NORTH OF I-44 WILL SEE BETWEEN 2 TO 5
  INCHES OF SNOW WITH THE HEAVIEST SNOW TOTALS FROM A LINE NEAR
  FORT SCOTT...TO OSAGE BEACH...TO VERSAILLES.

* WINDS AND VISIBILITY...WINDS WILL BECOME GUSTY UP TO 25 MPH
  TUESDAY NIGHT WHICH WILL CAUSE SOME BLOWING SNOW. VISIBILITIES
  MAY DROP TO LESS THAN A MILE AT TIMES IN HEAVIER SNOW.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL WILL BE IMPACTED TUESDAY. ROADS AND BRIDGES
  WILL BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS. MAKE APPROPRIATE TRAVEL PLANS.
