Wind chill advisory in effect for Joplin area until noon

WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY...

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...A WIND CHILL ADVISORY CONTINUES
  THROUGH NOON FOR ALL OF THE MISSOURI OZARKS AND EXTREME
  SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS.

* WIND CHILL VALUES...WIND CHILLS BETWEEN 10 AND 20 DEGREES BELOW
  ZERO WILL CONTINUE THIS MORNING.

* IMPACTS...VERY COLD TEMPERATURES WILL RESULT IN A RISK FOR
  FROSTBITE AND HYPOTHERMIA FOR ANYONE WITHOUT PROPER SHELTER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN
FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND
GLOVES.
