Former Webb City teacher turns herself in, posts $3,500 bond

Former Webb City High School choir teacher Carrie Njoroge turned herself in to the Christian County Sheriff's Department today and posted $3,500 bond.

The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed charges of sexual contact between a teacher and a student earlier this week.

The probable cause statement said that the couple had sex between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. April 15 in her office at Webb City High School. The 18-year-old student told Webb City Police that the two had been having a relationship for three months.

Webb City High School officials had placed Mrs. Njorege on administrative leave April 17. She resigned the following day.

  2. It has been corrected. I always appreciate it when someone politely points out an error.
