C. J. Huff , the speaker in demand next month

State auditors will be poring over the Joplin R-8 School District's books next month, but Superintendent C. J. Huff will have at least two opportunities to get away from the pressure.

On Monday, July 14, Huff will speak at a one-day conference for superintendents held by the National School Public Relations Association:

This 1-day power-packed session gives solutions to the communication challenges facing today’s busy superintendents. Choose from more than 25 sessions in communication, engagement, advocacy, and marketing. Learn new ways to deal with thorny and controversial issues by interacting with fellow superintendents and some of North America’s top communication counselors.

Huff's presentation is described as follows:

(Huff will) share some of his advocacy experiences and ideas that superintendents may be able to adapt and adopt in their districts. Huff will lead a superintendent-only discussion on what advocacy tactics are working at the local level and what is still needed to build more support for local education programs and educators.

The cost for superintendents to attend the one-day session is $249.

The session is followed by the NSPRA's annual conference over the next two days, which members can attend for $715.

One week later, on Monday, July 14, C. J. Huff will be the keynote speaker at the 10th annual Arkansas Safe Schools Conference at the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel in North Little Rock.

Huff will speak on "Joplin's Story of Loss and Recovery," according to the event agenda.

Somebody should give these people a heads-up to skip his presentation unless they want their school district to be in financial ruins and their staff morale at an all time low.

"Huff will lead a superintendent-only discussion on what advocacy tactics are working at the local level..."

Huff's portion will be brief, yes?
