Judging from the article just posted on KZRG, Joplin R-8 Superintendent C. J. Huff is passing the buck for the late opening of the new Joplin High School.
Now it is the teachers' fault, as well as those pesky inspection delays:
Huff adds that the physical side of the project should be finished up over the weekend, but he made the call due to reports of anxiety from teachers and staff who were worried the building would not be ready in time.
Huff announced earlier this morning that the start of school, originally scheduled for Monday, August 25, will be moved to Tuesday, September 2.
Penalize the teachers and the students for this mess ! Bravo !
ReplyDeleteF*** CJ Huff. That is all.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the teacher concerns were because of one was stuck between floors yesterday in a n elevator? Hmmm Good call Huff. Deflect blame once again. For once in your life take responsibility for your actions and just apologize and admit you messed up.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest issue is that my Middle Schooler and Elem. child were delayed from starting school for two weeks waiting for the High School to open. And now....starting two weeks late and staying the 10 minutes later for absolutely no reason as the High School is not opening. Nice call C.J. -
ReplyDeleteAt what point is someone on the board going to break down the Emperor and tell him he really has no clothes on?? Stop being yes people - challenge the man!! He is just a man - and a man who has proven to make poor decisions at an alarming rate.
this man is leading like a true president. That is the new standard of leadership in our brave new world. No accountability, no responsibility, no respect for those that do the actual hands on work, and totally without humility or shame.
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of poor decisions - what other person do you know would have placed all their eggs in this basket. I don't know of any other local administrator that would have pushed this so hard and bet their reputation on getting a multimillion dollar over budget construction project completed without having a backup plan. Actually I'm guessing everyone but our beloved C.J. would have listed to the contractors and kept the students at the Mall and Memorial and opened the new school after Christmas break....probably would have pushed to have the gym ready for Volleyball and basketball and then had the time to finish up the classrooms during the fall. Is this not common sense....it seems pretty simple to me. What is the old saying if you fail to plan then you are planning to fail!
ReplyDeletePlease proceed Huff. Please proceed.
ReplyDeleteMission NOT Accomplished :-(
ReplyDeleteHas anyone started a betting pool yet when the date will be when C.J. Huff is ran out of town? Maybe the proceeds could go to picking up the pieces after his complete failure when the next poor bastard has to come in and fix his mess. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteThe Eagles are circling.....4451
ReplyDeleteIt is always someone else's fault. How dare we ask a publicly tax funded administrator to take any responsibility for his lack of leadership and a back-up plan. I am so glad I do not live in the Joplin school district and have to pay for this boondoggle.
ReplyDeleteI been following this huff thing some. Reminds me a lot of sunny in Philadelphia. Glad you got the guts to do this. Wish you luck. Only advice I'd offer is to not offend/go against any key people, they have long tentacles and long memories.
ReplyDeleteLOL :(
If you drive by JHS on Indiana street, you will see big rolls of sod sitting in full sun,and have been for at least a week! Sod should not be installed this time of year! Sod should not sit in direct sun without being watered for 1 day let alone over a week! Also several of the newly planted trees are showing signs of dying....trees should not be planted this time of year either! Just sayin! With all the delays, why not delay landscaping until fall?
