Applications for a vacant position on the Joplin R-8 Board of Education will be accepted for the next two weeks.
The spot on the board opened when Dawn Sticklen resigned after transferring her daughter to Webb City High School.
Board President Annie Sharp praised her former colleague. "She was an awesome, awesome board member."
Those who are interested in serving should submit an application letter saying why they want to be on the board to Pat Waldo, board secretary at the administration building.
Afte rthe two weeks, the board will review applications at the next meeting and then possibly set up interviews before making its selection.
I thought Anne said "awful awful" and the other members were uncomfortably silent. Huff is hoping a short man who loves koolaid will apply.
ReplyDeleteI will miss her heroic food stamp to college stories.
ReplyDeleteI hope the Board is more selective in this time...obviously Sticklen does not have a passion for Joplin Schools.
ReplyDeleteWhat was awesome about her? I can't remember one thing that she really accomplished, except that she was as adept at using the rubber stamp as her colleagues Sharp, Steele, and Landis.
