Former Joplin teacher pleads not guilty to sex charges

Former Joplin High School communication arts teacher Jessica Low entered a not guilty plea during her arraignment Monday in Jasper County Circuit Court.

Pre-trial motions are scheduled for 9 a.m. November 17.

Low, 32, is charged with statutory rape, statutory sodomy, and furnishing pornographic material to a minor.

She was arrested shortly after the school day ended May 29 at the former 9-10 Center (the former Memorial Middle School) where she taught for two years.
