New lawsuit filed against so-called Right to Farm Amendment

(From Missouri Farmers Care)

Despite a statewide vote in favor of Amendment #1 and a recount reaffirming that victory for farmers and ranchers, the Humane Society of the United States' (HSUS) allies in Missouri have decided to continue fighting the Missouri Farming Rights Amendment through the courts.

"Farmers, ranchers, and Missouri voters united to approve Amendment #1 and enshrine the Missouri Farming Rights Amendment in our state constitution," Missouri Farmers Care Chairman Don Nikodim said. "The hard work and support of hundreds of thousands of Missourians made Amendment #1 a reality. This new suit shows how relentless HSUS is in their mission to stop Missouri agriculture and it shows exactly why Missourians made the right choice in supporting the Missouri Farming Rights Amendment."

(Note: The news release fails to mention that the Farming Rights Amendment is primarily a boon to corporate farmers and does little or nothing for family farmers.)
