Hearing held for former Joplin teacher on sex charges

Former Joplin High School communication arts teacher Jessica Low appeared in her court with her attorney Charles Genisio of Neosho, but only to ask for a continuance.

Dally scheduled a 9 a.m. December 22 hearing for motions or for a possible change of plea.

Low is charged with rape, sodomy, and pornography charges in connection with a sexual relationship with a high school student.

Low, 32, was arrested shortly after the school day ended at the 9-10 Center (the former Memorial Middle School) May 29. Low had taught at JHS for two years.
