Sam Anselm tabbed as Joplin city manager

Sam Anselm, who has been serving as interim city manager since the Joplin City Council fired Mark Rohr, will remove the interim label today.

Mayor Mike Seibert is scheduled to announce Anselm's selection as city manager during a press conference scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

Initially, the city named four finalists for the position, but two dropped out of the running after landing other jobs, leaving Anselm, who was the odds-on favorite to be hired since the search was announced, and Stephen Rasmussen, former Jefferson City city administrator.
