Winter weather advisory in effect Sunday for Springfield/Branson/Monett area

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPRINGFIELD MO
256 PM CST SAT JAN 10 2015

...ACCUMULATING WINTER PRECIPITATION EXPECTED SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT...

.AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL PUSH INTO THE SOUTHERN PLAINS
TONIGHT AND INTO THE MISSOURI OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS
ON SUNDAY INTO SUNDAY NIGHT. THIS SYSTEM WILL INTERACT WITH
INCREASING MOISTURE FROM THE SOUTH TO PRODUCE SOME WINTER WEATHER
LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY MONDAY MORNING.

PRECIPITATION WILL LIKELY BEGIN AS A SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN MIX
BEFORE BECOMING MOSTLY FREEZING RAIN LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY
SUNDAY MORNING. TEMPERATURES WILL BEGIN IN THE MID TO UPPER 20S
BUT SHOULD WARM TO AROUND THE FREEZING MARK. TEMPERATURES AT OR
BELOW FREEZING WILL LIKELY EXPERIENCE FREEZING RAIN DURING THE
EVENT...WHILE AREAS WHICH RISE ABOVE FREEZING WILL HAVE RAIN.
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO HOVER RIGHT AROUND THE FREEZING
MARK...SO PRECIPITATION TYPE MAY CHANGE BACK AND FORTH THROUGHOUT
THE EVENT.

THE HIGHEST ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED OVER SOUTH CENTRAL
MISSOURI WHERE UP TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE.
AMOUNTS WILL TAPER OFF TO THE NORTHWEST WHERE A GLAZE TO HUNDREDTH
OF AN INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE ON THE NORTHWESTERN SECTIONS OF THIS
ADVISORY.

PRECIPITATION WILL END FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST LATE SUNDAY
NIGHT INTO EARLY MORNING MORNING...WITH PRECIPITATION TYPE
POSSIBLY CHANGING OVER TO LIGHT SNOW AT THE END AS THE COLD AIR
DEPTH INCREASES IN THE ATMOSPHERE.

MONDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND LIGHT SNOW...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM 4 AM SUNDAY TO 9 AM CST MONDAY.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...GENERALLY SOUTH AND EAST OF A
  CASSVILLE...TO SPRINGFIELD TO OSAGE BEACH LINE FROM EARLY SUNDAY
  MORNING THROUGH MID MORNING MONDAY.

* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...TRACE AMOUNTS TO AROUND A TENTH
  OF AN INCH OF SLEET AND SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...A GLAZE UP TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH OF ICE
  ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE.

* IMPACTS...ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO CAUSE ROADWAYS TO
  BECOME IMPACTED WHICH WILL CAUSE TRAVEL PROBLEMS ACROSS THE
  ADVISORY AREA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FREEZING
RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
