Hearing in sexual harassment lawsuit against Mike Johnson, Joplin R-8 set for Wednesday

A one hour pre-trial hearing in a lawsuit against the Joplin R-8 School District and buildings program coordinator Mike Johnson is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Division II courtroom in the Jasper County Courts Building in Joplin.

The trial of former custodial supervisor George Morris' wrongful dismissal and retaliation lawsuit is scheduled to begin February 17.

The petition also includes damaging charges against Superintendent C. J. Huff.

Morris claims he was a victim of sexual harassment by Johnson, who is also alleged to have made crude sexual remarks about bending a former Stapleton Elementary principal over a desk and having his way with her.

Johnson is a slimeball and should be in jail. Even if R-8 loses this lawsuit (which they should), C.J. will probably still keep Johnson around and give him a big raise.

Johnson gives most women I know that creepy, get away from him, do not ever go alone with this guy, kind of feelings. Just a feeling but when my guts says perv I listen.

Don't worry folks. If the community finally pressures CJ to cut his pet monkey loose, Mr. Johnson can fill the newly created Bright Future's position of Director of Diversity and Women's Affairs.
