Spokesman confirms Schweich's death

The following statement was just received from Spence Jackson from the Missouri State Auditor's office:

It is with great sadness that I confirm the passing of Missouri State Auditor Tom Schweich today. Please keep in mind his wife Kathy and two children.

Hmmm...I'm sorry to hear of his passing...but I was really looking forward to what he had to say about Joplin next week. Wonder if CJ...

First off, prayers for his family. Tough times for them.

Second, I mean no disrespect, but I wonder what that means in terms of the Joplin Schools audit? Must the auditor personally deliver the results ? Can someone from his office deliver it? Would it have to be redone (I assume not)? While I hate to hear he has passed away, I would hate to see those audit results delayed too long (past elections).

This is very sad! I just feel as its suspicious though. We need the results before the election yet it does give CJ another reason to cry in public!

    12:29.
No, the State Auditor does not have to report the findings personally, but in higher-profile cases, they like to. Nothing needs to be changed at all. I do doubt that the findings will take place this next week, though.

The audit is complete. So now it must be delivered to the city. It belongs to the tax payers. I find it very strange. I hope there are investigators NOW at the scene. Cameras, phone records, emails, texts.... that will show who was communicating with him in the past two weeks, and had a motive to take him out. The report must show something egregious. There is no way he would have committed suicide. I don't buy it, but its just my opinion.

Why would he call a press conference for 2:30 today but then shoot himself 3 hours before that - after setting it up at 930am this morning? Now we will never know what he wanted to say.....

  11. Sounds like the beginning of a new "fiction" novel.

A story about a school district so corrupt it will do what ever it takes to keep their name clean.

It seems a bit premature to start pointing fingers at locals before any evidence has been presented to implicate them. However, that being said, for a superintendent or school board members (or city council members) to be so corrupt that anyone would think they were capable of such is appalling. It is time to step down if your reputation is so damaged. Perhaps your covering up of the student/child porn on your tech leader's computer has fueled this low level of regard. The comments in earlier posts, plus the survey indicating that very few (fewer than 45%) of your employees can trust central office, is evidence enough to call for a change. We don't want you with our children anymore. Not any of you.

I wonder whether you'd all be waxing sentimental if Schweich abandoned his children and went to live in Tahiti instead of Heaven.

I don't think you would, but the consequence of his cowardly act for his family would be the same.

Instead, many of you are so self-absorbed and unstable that you actually imply that C. J. Huff or members of the Joplin City Council had something to do with it.

You have finally revealed yourselves for what you are.

Was he also auditing the tax fund Wallace Bajjali created? Wonder if he discovered something there and the two thieves decided to muffle auditor for good. If they could abscond in the middle of the night like two flagrant criminals, what else are they capable of? This smells rotten. God bless his family. Poor man. Wonder how much he suffered?

Yes, what would they gain by a murder disguised as a suicide? The State Auditor doesn't actually perform the audits, he's responsible for seeing they get done properly. So an unrecognized murder is useless as a threat to those doing the work.

The school district audit is essentially done. He probably won't get replaced soon enough to make any difference to the city audit, and if a replacement, appointed by Nixon?, suddenly started curtailing audits, that would look too suspicious, and too likely to sweep up the replacement and others into a conspiracy to commit murder. Hard to imagine what could be enough of a payoff for that.

    @5:38

Once again, what does it say for our school and city leadership that anyone would even consider such a thing about them? Not that they are honest, morally upright citizens.

The accusations might be short sighted, but that people are capable of believing these things about them speaks profoundly.

    You tell us, 8:09.

    You explain such psychotic ravings.

It will tell us much about you and nothing about anyone else.
