Nixon after Lane Roberts confirmation: He is an outstanding leader

(From Gov. Jay Nixon)

Gov. Jay Nixon issued the following statement on the Missouri Senate’s confirmation of former Joplin Police Chief Lane Roberts as the director of the Missouri Department of Public Safety. Roberts, a 42-year veteran of law enforcement, served as Joplin Police Chief from April 2007 until his retirement last year.

“Lane Roberts’ distinguished 42-year career in law enforcement, including his exemplary service as Joplin Police Chief, will make him an outstanding leader for the Missouri Department of Public Safety,” said Gov. Nixon. “I thank Senator Richard for sponsoring Chief Roberts’ nomination and the Senate for acting to confirm his appointment today.”

How does a 70 year old get a good paying government job like that? As far as I know Lane Roberts only claim to fame is he was at right place at the right time the joplin tornado when so many people were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Because they didn't want him on the school board. He is a good man, but why him out of all those to chose from in the state of Missouri.
