Tornado sirens sound in Joplin, warning issued

Tornado sirens sounded a few minutes ago in Joplin. The following was posted by the National Weather Service:

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHEASTERN CHEROKEE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS...
  SOUTHERN JASPER COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
  NORTHERN NEWTON COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...

* UNTIL 930 PM CDT

* AT 839 PM CDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A
  TORNADO WAS LOCATED 2 MILES NORTH OF GALENA...AND MOVING EAST
  SOUTHEAST AT 35 MPH.

  HAZARD...TORNADO AND QUARTER SIZE HAIL.

  SOURCE...RADAR INDICATED ROTATION.

  IMPACT...FLYING DEBRIS WILL BE DANGEROUS TO THOSE CAUGHT WITHOUT
           SHELTER. MOBILE HOMES WILL BE DAMAGED OR DESTROYED. DAMAGE
           TO ROOFS...WINDOWS AND VEHICLES WILL OCCUR. TREE DAMAGE IS
           LIKELY.

  AIRPORT DRIVE...ALBA...ATLAS...BROOKLYN HEIGHTS...CARL JUNCTION...
  CARTERVILLE...CARTHAGE...CLIFF VILLAGE...CRESTLINE...DENNIS

  GRANBY...IRON GATES...JOPLIN...LAKESIDE...LAWTON...LEAWOOD...NECK
  CITY...OAKLAND PARK...ORONOGO...PURCELL...REDINGS MILL...REEDS...
  RIVERTON...SAGINAW...SHOAL CREEK DRIVE...SHOAL CREEK ESTATES...
  SILVER CREEK...WACO AND WEBB CITY.

INTERSTATE 44 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 0 AND 27 WILL ALSO BE IMPACTED BY
THIS DANGEROUS STORM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW. MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF A
STURDY BUILDING. AVOID WINDOWS. IF IN A MOBILE HOME...A VEHICLE OR
OUTDOORS...MOVE TO THE CLOSEST SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER AND PROTECT
YOURSELF FROM FLYING DEBRIS.
