Apparently, she didn't get the message.
Sharp has applied for Roberts' slot on the board of education and will be one of nine candidates interviewed during a special 7 p.m. board meeting Tuesday at the Administration Building.
The interviews are open to the public.
Sharp is joined by two other former board members, Jim Kimbrough, who did not seek re-election in April after serving three terms, and Ashley Micklethwaite, who was board president at the time of the tornado, before resigning when she took a job outside of Joplin.
The order of the interviews, according to the agenda is as follows:
1. Ashley Micklethwaite
2. Mary Gaarder
3. Sharock Dermott
4. Anne R. Wells
5. David Guilford
6. Jim Kimbrough
7. Marsi E. Archer, Ph.D.
8. Joseph Brown
9. Anne Sharp
The interviews will be followed by a closed session, in which legal action and personnel will be discussed, according to the agenda.
Flashback:
ReplyDelete"The message was clear- things have to change in the Joplin R-8 School District.
Some people did not get the message. The plotting to keep control of the school district began immediately after the votes were counted and will continue when the new Board of Education is seated Tuesday night.
and
"After the seating of the new Board of Education, officers will be selected and the choice of president is critical. One of the first items of business will be setting up a procedure for filling the Lane Roberts seat until April 2016. If the vote ends up 3-3, the board president casts the deciding ballot.
While much of the early speculation centered on efforts to keep Anne Sharp on the board, that is appearing more and more unlikely, since that would be a slap in the face to the wide majority of voters who indicated they not only did not want Sharp, who has been on the board since 2000, to represent them any longer, but they were willing to vote for someone who had already said he would not serve even if elected.

"The election doesn't matter."
ReplyDeleteIt is a slap in the face to voters to put Anne Sharp on the board when voters CLEARLY did not elect her. I hope the new board president allows the people's choice stand.
ReplyDeleteHell no! Go away Anne. We voted you off for a reason...we don't want you on the board anymore. You let Huff run our district down and act like a bully and a fool during your time. No more.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how hard Huff had to beg her to throw her name in the ring?
ReplyDelete"Marmalard" still wants to stick up for "Dean Wormer." It will not be. Good luck, you're gonna need it.
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't Sharp understand the patrons of Joplin voted her off in spite of all the money she spent to get the position. No one wants her in their faces taking pictures or anything else. Go away
ReplyDeleteBetter steer clear of Ashley as well....serious mental issues there.
ReplyDeleteI feel like Anne Sharp is eventually going to be like Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard, holding fake school board meetings in her home with her beloved servant, CJ Huff, each choosing the comfort of insanity over the reality of glory lost.
ReplyDeleteNow if you'll excuse me, I've got pictures of soup to select (not a diss, I actually really enjoy this form of captcha).
Thanks Randy, for showing Dr. Archer a little respect "PhD". The Globe couldn't be bothered. She is an extremely qualified candidate and would make a fabulous board member.
ReplyDeleteGrumpy cat is grumpy
ReplyDeleteJackie Chan says Oh No
ReplyDeleteOk, how are you posting these? I want in!
DeletePlease new board members you must stand strong and not put Anne Sharp back on the board. The voters DO NOT want her. We need to move forward and she won't provide that. Jim Kimbrough or Marsi Archer would be much better choices.
ReplyDeleteOr, Anne, we could let you out the door, never to return.
ReplyDeleteTHE TAX PAYERS OF JOPLIN DO NOT WANT MS SHARP ON THE B O E ,SHE WITH THE HELP OF STEEL AND LANDES HAVE DONE ALOT OF DAMAGE TO OUR SCHOOLS,WE MUST PUT OUR STUDENTS FIRST,AND MAKE SURE WE HAVE GOOD MORAL PEOPLE ON THE BOARD
ReplyDeleteAnne Sharp's facebook page hasn't been updated for a while.

Ashley has mental issues? She seems so nice and normal. You never know.
ReplyDeleteNot Anne Sharp! I voted for a guy who wouldn't take the job to avoid her.
