A report on KOAM News Tuesday night has resulted in more signatures on the petition to fire Joplin R-8 Superintendent C. J. Huff.
The petition, which was started by Tina Carl, now has 474 signatures. The current plan is to present it to the Board of Education at its June meeting after a replacement is found for former Joplin Police Chief Lane Roberts, who resigned after his election due to his now position as head of Missouri's Department of Public Safety.
Carl left the following message today on the petition website:
I'm so happy to have your support in our effort to have Joplin Schools Board of Education address the problem we have with CJ Huff. We're quickly approaching the 500 mark!
Our voices are being heard and I'm so proud of everyone for taking a stand. I have faith that the new Board will deal with Huff and get our district back on track. We, as voters and taxpayers have joined forces and by doing so are getting things done here in Joplin. I applaud your drive and determination to create change!
Please remember to share the petition with friends and family, our kids and Joplin taxpayers deserve better!
It should be noted that there are at least as many people who would love to be able to sign the petition but are unable to do so because of fear of losing their jobs or having relatives lose their jobs.
Poor CJ....he must be SO distraught.
ReplyDelete500 signatures isn't very impressive. I think he has done a commendable job. He is human so of course he has made mistakes. I am very pleased this petition has very few supporters.
ReplyDeleteWhat???? People fear retaliation
DeleteFor themselves and their kids. Academics has not been a consideration if you don't care about educated students then????
7:50 pm What would you think if 500 signed a petition to have you fired? Would that be impressive?
ReplyDeleteI'll bet there are MORE people who would like to sign that but can't. If you work in R8, you will get a personal phone call from Huff and Co. if you sign that. If you used to work there you will have trouble with future employment.
ReplyDeleteJust because I didn't sign it or my family didn't sign it doesn't mean we didn't want to.
500 signatures is impressive and sends the message that we are fed up. Clearly 7:50 is living with their head in the sand. Bout time for the people to come together! Once Huff is gone, next project should be to cleanup city council.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is a joke and given the background and poor judgement of Mr. Turner and his failed career as a teacher, how can anyone believe any of this crap. If you people knew the heart of C.J. Huff and the real good he has done in this town for our kids, you would be ashamed. Let's measure all of the good Mr. Turner has done next to that and see who comes out on top. What people say matters very little, it is in what they do so let's see those facts Mr. Turner. Put your pitchforks away and stop trying to tear down a guy that is trying to do good or you will answer for it later.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahahahaha.....that right there is some funny stuff!
Delete10:49 - what people say means a lot! Look at the things that Mr. Huff has said. A person in his position is supposed to be impartial and to take his frustrations out on a candidate is uncalled for! And, to treat his bosses the way he does is appalling! The fact that the board has allowed him this luxury is beyond me. If I spoke to my boss like that I would be looking for a new job! I think they all need a wake up call!!!
ReplyDeleteObviously 10:49 knows the real CJ and the rest of us are just bitter about his success and we attempting to tear down a great man.
ReplyDeleteOr we could be people whose lives have been directly adversely affected by CJ or his minions. I could be a former employee who was pushed out by CJ and Besendorfer and then as I am interviewing for a new job Angie and CJ call my soon to be new employer and tell them not to hire me. Or maybe I am a currently employee who has not had a raise in years while CJ recklessly spends millions of dollars on the post tornado school rebuilding. I am still baffled that nobody has become angry that CJ and Bessie convinced the board to send the East kids to the warehouse for 2 1/2 years while they built the new modern 21st century East all because the could not find bricks to match the damaged 2 year old East very nice school. Side note to that - if CJ and Bessie had been good stewards of tax payer money the kids of East could have been back in the completely rebuilt old East building for the beginning of the 2011 school year and would not have had to attend the warehouse school - but how would I know that? Continuing on my rant - perhaps I am a worker in building and grounds that has been treated like a sub-human by Mike Johnson who has in turn been supported by CJ through how many law suits? Perhaps, I am community business owner who has seen a great number o employees move their children to surrounding districts because of the lack of quality education expectations - because CJ was too busy focusing on rebuilding to focus on academics. Or maybe I have seen CJ launch into an angry violent tirade at the 32nd compound and yell and scream at people who just happen to walk through. How about I am a community patron that just happened to read how CJ personally attacked soon to be Board Member Jennifer Martuchi and then several weeks later watched CJ attack Dr. Debbie Fort on live TV.
Because as we all know 10:49 understands how good of a man CJ is and how all of us that read and contribute to this blog are just haters.
I don't think 10:49 drank the koolaid. I think 10:49 has had a koolaid transfusion.
ReplyDeletewow
10:49 is the sole surviving CJ Huff fan. The one and only defender of the devil himself, because 500 people must be wrong.
ReplyDeletePlease, do tell, what are these great things you say he's done for children? They must have happened in another town.
How many signatures before he cries?
ReplyDeleteA well-intentioned fool is still a fool. Thing is, Huff isn't just a fool, he's a paranoid egomaniac posing as a humble servant. He tried very hard to keep his off-camera and on-camera persona separate, but the true self started coming out with his selfish tantrums. His allies like Jeff Flowers and Mike Landis are cut from the same man-child whole cloth.
