Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Newton, McDonald counties

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
  WESTERN BARRY COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
  SOUTHWESTERN LAWRENCE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
  EASTERN MCDONALD COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
  SOUTHEASTERN NEWTON COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...

* UNTIL 200 AM CDT

* AT 114 AM CDT...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE
  EXTENDING FROM 16 MILES NORTHWEST OF FAIRVIEW TO 12 MILES SOUTHWEST
  OF FAIRVIEW TO 18 MILES WEST OF WASHBURN...AND MOVING NORTHEAST AT
  45 MPH.

  HAZARD...60 MPH WIND GUSTS.

  SOURCE...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT. DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED IN NEWTON
  COUNTY WITH THESE STORMS.

  IMPACT...EXPECT DAMAGE TO ROOFS...SIDING AND TREES.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
  CASSVILLE...EXETER...FAIRVIEW...MONETT...PIERCE CITY...PURDY...
  SELIGMAN...WASHBURN AND WHEATON.

THIS WARNING ALSO INCLUDES BIG SUGAR CREEK STATE PARK AND ROARING
RIVER STATE PARK.
