Is this coming from the "might as well" spending account? Did they invite the students....... we all know everything they do is for the kids

How do I say goodbye to what we had...
The good times that made us laugh outweigh the bad...
I thought we'd get to see forever...
    But forever's gone away..
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

Well this will give the community a chance to see the opulent offices on the second floor---administration found it necessary to carpet, tear out walls, repaint and purchase new furniture during their recent move from 32nd Street to this building. Students were in this building post-tornado for 3 years--refurbishing was greatly needed, but there was never support for spending money for this....hmmmm, now there is money since administrators' offices are there. once again, this expenditure reveals much about the decision makers of the district.

Progress Committee will be there. The rest of Joplin will be glad to see this nightmare (Huff/Landis) over.

You really should go Mr. Turner. Enjoy some punch and cookies on their dime. Be sure to have a buddy film their reaction to your attendance. Could be fun.

Will hell freeze over by then. I resent spending taxpayer dollars to cater this "retirement" cover-up.

Who pays for the bodyguard that will most likely be there.

He is NOT retiring...I would bet. So this reception is a joke. Why else would he want to go to Nashville except to prospect at that meeting or sing country blues...aside from the fact that we are paying his way.....This whole retirement thing is a cover-up. It was severance pay. Or could Anne Sharp have a vested interest when she pushed for the new contract to be signed. I don't know. But I am sick of all of them using our tax dollars unwisely and wastefully. Not to mention all the ulterior motives, lack of transparency, commissioners, city council, and some BOE. May 22, 2011 brought out the worst in some and the best in many.

Too bad I'll be out of town on business. I'd love to be there to smile at old Huffy and the JPC's elitist, egotistical faces while politely telling them to go screw themselves on the nearest convenient parking meter.

Perhaps they can present CJ with his graft on the giant check they used to use for publicity when they got donations. They can drape "mission accomplished" ribbon all over the damn building (there is a ton of it somewhere), and all can eat cake. The crumbs, that is. That's all that is left.

There wasn't any food for the crews working to move things while there was food for administrators having a meeting and now they'll have food again.
I'm tired of feeding Huff and friends.

I am guessing the same people that came to help Wallace Bajoli move out. At least they had the sense to leave town. We could only hope to be so lucky with Huff.

Only Huff or the cuurent BOE could have authorized this. Which is it?

This little shindig can be seen as something to snub, which I would advise any self-respecting staff person to do, or something to crash, which is what I would advise the general public do. Just think--all of the people who destroyed the district academically, ran off the teachers, raised your taxes, and bankrupted us, will be together in one place one last time. Unless, that is, they get to go to court together when their trials start. Be sure and tell them what you think of this current fiasco they have caused. It is hurting your children, and they don't care.

When you throw a party for yourself you have to stack the deck so it looks like there is a crowd there. If it was just a party for himself, it would probably be a ghost town except for those few loyal Huffters. By throwing one for himself and his co-conspirators with the exception of Kimbrough it makes it look like a crowd. How many more days before he is shown the door?

The new pro Huff 4 beg Huff to reconsider.
After much introspection and at the urging of his family, he agrees to once more save Joplin. He stays on as Superintendent, and we all live happily ever after!
