Ashcroft to bring Voter I. D. Amendment plan to Webb City Thursday

A candidate with a familiar name will bring a familiar old idea, photo I. D. for voters, designed to stop a problem that does not exist- fraud in our elections- to Webb City Thursday.

The following release comes from Jay Ashcroft's secretary of state campaign:

Jay Ashcroft, a Republican candidate for Missouri Secretary of State, will be visiting seven cities this week to announce the launch of a campaign in support of a constitutional amendment that would allow Missouri to require photo identification to vote. Ashcroft filed the amendment on with the Secretary of State’s office on May 21 and will be working in the coming months to collect a sufficient number of signatures to place the measure on the ballot in 2016. I hope it costs a lot of money. I love it when republicans spend tax dollars on unnecessary programs.
