The deadline for applying for Joplin R-8 interim superintendent is Wednesday and so far, a half dozen applications have been received, according to Board President Jeff Koch.
The board is scheduled to hold a closed meeting 5:30 p.m. Thursday and is likely to interview candidates during that session. Koch said no decision has been made on how many candidates will be interviewed.
As the board seeks an interim superintendent for one, and possibly two years, according to the advertisement that was placed on the district website, Executive Director of Secondary Education Jason Cravens is serving as acting superintendent.
The position came open with the "retirement" of C. J. Huff.
Do we know or can we know who is being interviewed?
