Hearing set for proposed Missouri American Water rate increase

The Missouri Public Service Commission has established the deadline for those wishing to intervene and participate in water and sewer rate cases filed by the Missouri-American Water Company.

Applications to intervene and participate in these rate cases must be filed no later than August 25, 2015, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at www.psc.mo.gov .

Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102, telephone 1-800-392-4211, e-mail pscinfo@psc.mo.gov). The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency that represents the general public in matters before the Commission.

On July 31, 2015, the Missouri-American Water Company filed water and sewer rate cases with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual operating revenues by approximately $51 million. The impact of the rate requests on the average residential customer in each of Missouri-American Water Company’s service areas, as filed by the company on July 31, 2015, appears on the following page.

The Missouri-American Water Company serves approximately 471,708 water and sewer customers in Missouri.
