Lant: Sexual harassment of interns should not be tolerated

(The following is an excerpt from the weekly column or Rep. Bill Lant, R-Pineville.)

Last week, the investigation into Sen. Paul LeVota's sexual harassment of an intern was concluded, with sufficient evidence to suggest that something occurred.

As a result, he has resigned his office.

These allegations are deeply troubling and should not be tolerated at any level.

We tried to pass a new ethics bill last session, but failed to get enough support for it. I am hoping to help craft a new bill that addresses behavior, as well as campaign finances.

Any time men and women work together, day in and day out, there is going to be some social fraternizing, but elected officials should hold themselves above any impropriety.

With a majority democRAT legislature obstructing and fear mongering with every dog whistle what do you expect?

Good luck with that. Between the UN Agenda 21 to enslave us and Jade Helm rearing its head your voters would rather you concentrate on getting bibles and prayers back in the schools!

You do realize that republicans have majorities in both of the state houses right? And if Lant and his other Republican colleagues want to act so high and mighty, maybe they should pass some legislation to limit special interests gifts to lawmakers. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sick of Monsanto and Rex Sinquefield meddling with our state politics.

That's pretty funny, considering that the RePuBliCaNs hold a super majority in the state house. And while we are on that, How about the immediate former House Speaker in the Mo Leg, a RePuBliCaN, had to resign because of a relationship with an intern...

    Why did't LANT discuss that??

    Smells a bit fshy..

Oh and Jade Helm (JH) and The UN Agenda 21, apparently you only watch FOX NEWS, which a new study shows makes one less informed than not knowing the news at all!!!
