Americans for Prosperity- Missourians overwhelmingly favor right to work

(From Americans for Prosperity Missouri)

According to recent statewide polling data, Missourians are overwhelmingly in favor of standing up against Governor Jay Nixon’s executive overreach by overriding his veto of job-creating Right to Work legislation.

By a 47-39 margin, Missourians are more likely to re-elect a legislator who votes to override Governor Nixon’s job-killing veto on September 16th.

The poll also found that 58 percent of Missourians believe the state is heading in the wrong direction, which isn’t surprising since the Show Me State is ranked a dismal 47th in economic outlook.

In addition, just 16 and 32 percent of Missourian’s have a favorable view of two special interest organizations—the SEIU and AFL-CIO—who are embracing the failing status quo by rejecting this simple job-creating legislation.

“The people of Missouri are sending a clear message to legislators in Jefferson City,” said AFP-Missouri State Director Patrick Werner. “A vote to override Governor Nixon's veto of Right to Work legislation is a vote for jobs, a vote for economic growth, and a vote for hard-working Missouri families who are counting on their elected officials to do the right thing for the future of the Show Me State.”

The poll, which was conducted by Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research, surveyed 502 registered Missouri voters between August 25 and 27, 2015 and has a margin of error of plus/minus 4.4 percent.

Yes I'm because people like the Koch brothers would just love for you lose the labor protections that unions provide. This is all about Corporate greed.

I always wonder how many people asked understand what "Right to Work" laws mean. Sounds pro-worker but of course it isn't.

    How do you say Kochroach?

    Is it Cockroach? Or Cokeroach?

Former Koch Industries Official Says He Ghostwrote Letters On Behalf of Congressmen

Richard Tucker, a former communications manager at Koch Industries from August 2010 through March 2012, wrote in his LinkedIn profile that he was responsible for “op-eds and letters to the editor that were signed by company leaders, members of congress and citizen activists.” Tucker, a writer and editor for a number of conservative websites, said he also wrote “regular blog posts for company employees to help explain important Washington policy debates” and was a member of the “crisis communication team that produced swift responses to negative press coverage.”

Unions are legalized thugs who have used political influence (money) to pick the pockets of working people and use their money to gain more political influence. Time to see if people when given a choice really want to pay dues.

8:18 I find it amazing that people in the 4-states can continue to bash Unions after recently learning that Joplin subsidizes the Chamber of Commerce with $ 300,000.00. How can working people ignore this fact that a pro business group is using tax payer money to fund anti-worker legislation? Think about it, who are the Joplin "thugs" recently? It sure as Hell isn't the working man.

10:10... 8:18 agrees with you on the Chanber of Commerce funding. It is wrong. Period. The C of C members need to pay their own way. Should never get tax money. Undermines free enterprise to do so.

8:18, I would also like to point out some more irony in Joplin. We have learned recently that over 60% of r-8 kids are getting free lunches. We also know that Bright Futures wants to help them, after paying its staff of course. BF solicits money from local businesses that are to help the poor, correct? Sw Mo has some of the lowest wages in the country, correct? So, why don't we cut out the BF middleman and just have the businesses pay the working parents of these kids a little more so they don't need free lunches?
