13-year-old in custody in shooting death of 12-year-old Carthage girl

The Carthage Press reports on its Facebook page that the Jasper County Sheriff's Office has taken a 13-year-old boy into custofy in connection with the shooting death of a 12-year-old girl at a home on Placid Road northeast of Carthage.

Chief Deputy Derek Walrod says more details will be released Friday.
