WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED... LIMITED FOG RISK. DISCUSSION... PATCHY FOG WITH VISIBILITIES DOWN TO A MILE OR LESS WILL BE POSSIBLE LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY CHRISTMAS MORNING GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE 44 CORRIDOR. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY. THERE IS A LIMITED THREAT FOR A FEW STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS LATE FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY. THE POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE STORMS WILL BE HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON WHETHER OR NOT ENOUGH INSTABILITY CAN DEVELOP SOUTH OF A RETURNING WARM FRONT. THE LIMITED THREAT FOR SEVERE STORMS WILL GENERALLY BE ALONG AND SOUTH OF AN ANDERSON TO MARSHFIELD TO SALEM LINE...HOWEVER THIS AREA MAY CHANGE DEPENDING ON HOW FAR NORTH THAT FRONT MOVES. MEANWHILE...SEVERAL PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED FROM LATE CHRISTMAS NIGHT INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. A SWATH OF 5 TO 8 INCHES OF RAINFALL APPEARS LIKELY ALONG AND ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF THE INTERSTATE 44 CORRIDOR. THESE RAINFALL AMOUNTS WOULD RESULT IN A POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT FLOODING EVENT. AREA INTERESTS ARE URGED TO MONITOR THIS SITUATION CLOSELY. BRISK AND GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND NORTH OF THAT FRONTAL BOUNDARY ACROSS THE OSAGE PLAINS OF SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND WESTERN MISSOURI.
